Brigadoon, Briga-what?
Not many are very familiar with Brigadoon as this musical was written way back in 1947. So that means you can pretty much cross out today’s generation. In case you are one of those scratching your head, here is a little info on this classic. Basically, this musical takes place in a small enchanted village somewhere in Scotland. So you can expect to hear a lot of traditional bagpipe music.
In the story, Brigadoon is actually a magical village that only appears once in every hundred years or so. That seems like an awful long time for regular folk who live in normal places, but for those who live in this sanctuary of sorts, one century seems like just one night.
The catch is that the village will retain its magic and enchantment long as no citizen ever leaves. If one does decide to do so, Brigadoon will be lost forever somewhere in the mists of the highlands.
Brigadoon Grand Heritage Costume
You surely will not be any ordinary maiden in this Brigadoon Grand Heritage Costume. You will be as enchanting as the magical village itself.
To truly capture the right era, nothing screams ”Renaissance” more than a plain white peasant long sleeved shirt lined in immaculate white lace. Over this, strap on the brown corset inspired tie up vest. But unlike the common bodice, this one is tied up in three different areas- on both sides and right in the middle. Not only does this add to the whole look but it also adds to your figure. This will accentuate your curves leaving you with a voluptuous hour glass figure.
For the lower half, first put on the pitch black full length underlay that has a little gold trim that adds just a little bit of a design. Then, over it goes a plaid red full length skirt. The lines on this are metallic gold. There is a white lace trim running along the bottom of the skirt.
What lady would be complete without her purse? This whole look even provides you with a black fringed handbag that matches the ensemble perfectly.
